Canadian-Made Decorative Drapery
Create Your Perfect Drapery Combination
Drapery panels cut and sewn in our own Canadian workroom, one order at a time. Choose a heading style, a fabric, and any decorative hardware, finial, sheer or KS track you would like, and our team confirms every specification before a single piece is cut. Designers Resource Centre has been making custom drapery in Canada since 1989.

Made in Canada Since 1989
Canadian-made panels that frame a window beautifully
Decorative stationary drapery panels — often called dummy panels or side panels — sit at the edges of a window to soften hard architecture, add height and give a room the finished, tailored quality of custom drapery without the cost or complexity of a fully functional treatment.
Every panel is cut and sewn to order in Canada, in our own workroom, in your chosen fabric and heading style, then paired with any decorative hardware finish, finial, coordinating sheer and track system you select below. Nothing is imported ready-made and nothing is produced until our team has reviewed and confirmed your specification.
Designers Resource Centre has been designing and fabricating custom window treatments since 1989. Close to four decades of workroom experience goes into the proportion, hem weights, fullness and finishing of each panel — the details that separate custom drapery from off-the-shelf.
Please read: these are decorative stationary panels
These panels are intended primarily for decorative framing at the sides of a window. They are not designed to open and close across the full width of the window unless a suitable track or hardware system is selected. If you need a treatment that draws fully closed for privacy or light blocking, add a KS track system in Step 6 or speak with our team so we can specify the correct functional hardware for your opening.
How It Works
Seven steps to a considered window
Work through the selections in order. Your combination builds in the summary panel as you go, and nothing is produced until we have reviewed and confirmed the details with you.
-
Select your heading style
Two-Finger Pleat, Ripple Fold or Golden Fold — the heading decides how the fabric folds and sets the character of the panel.
-
Choose the number of panels
One panel, a pair, or a custom quantity for wider openings and multi-window rooms.
-
Select your fabric & colourway
Choose from five curated drapery fabrics, then select a colourway from that fabric’s available range.
-
Add optional hardware & finial
Hardware is optional and sold separately. Pick a finish — black, silver, champagne or maroon — and a glass-ball or empire finial.
-
Add optional sheers
Sheers are sold separately. Layer a coordinating sheer panel behind the drapery for privacy, softness and daytime light control.
-
Add an optional KS track
KS track is sold separately. Specify a KS track system if you want a cleaner, more functional drapery installation.
-
Submit your combination
Add a standard combination to your cart, or send it to us as a quote request for confirmation.

Before You Order
Installation & measuring
A decorative panel earns its keep through proportion. A few measurements taken carefully at the start will make the finished treatment look intentional rather than approximate.
If you would prefer we take the measurements, or you are unsure which configuration suits your opening, book a consultation and we will guide you through it.
What to measure
- Mounting height. Measure from your intended rod or track position down to the floor, then compare it to the 96″ finished panel length to confirm the proportion you want.
- Window width and wall space. Note the full window width plus the wall available at each side, so panels stack neatly beside the glass rather than across it.
- Obstructions. Check for mouldings, trim, radiators, blinds, door swings, ceiling depth and anything else that affects bracket or track placement.
- Hardware length. Confirm the rod or track length required for your opening with our team before ordering.
Good to know
- Each panel finishes at 24″ wide, so a pair frames the window rather than covering it.
- Layering a sheer behind the drapery adds privacy and softens daylight without changing the decorative panel itself.
- If you need the treatment to close, a KS track system or alternative functional hardware should be specified.
- Installation is arranged separately. [Placeholder — installation availability and pricing to be confirmed.]
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions, answered
What is a dummy drapery panel?
A dummy panel — also called a decorative stationary panel or side panel — is a fabric panel that stays in place at the side of a window. It is there to frame the opening, add height and soften the architecture, rather than to be drawn open and closed each day.
Where are your drapery panels made?
Every panel is cut and sewn in Canada, in our own workroom. Nothing on this page is an imported, ready-made panel — each one is fabricated to order once your selections are confirmed, which is also why we can accommodate custom quantities and heading styles.
How long has Designers Resource Centre been making drapery?
Since 1989. Close to four decades of workroom experience goes into the fullness, hems, weights and finishing of each panel, and the same team reviews every order before it goes into production.
Is the listed price for one panel or a pair?
Pricing is per individual panel and covers the drapery panel only — hardware, sheers and KS tracks are sold separately. You select the quantity you need in Step 2. [Placeholder — final pricing structure to be confirmed and added by Designers Resource Centre.]
What is the finished panel size?
Each decorative drapery panel has a standard finished size of 24 inches wide by 96 inches long.
What heading styles can I choose from?
Three: Two-Finger Pleat, a tailored traditional heading with two hand-formed folds at each pleat; Ripple Fold, a continuous even wave with no pleats for a cleaner, contemporary look; and Golden Fold, a relaxed generous fold that sits between the two. You select the heading in Step 1 and our team confirms suitability for your fabric and hardware.
Do I have to order hardware and a finial?
No. Hardware is completely optional — choose “No hardware” in Step 4 if you already have a rod or track, or are supplying your own. If you would like hardware, pick a finish and then either a glass-ball finial, an empire finial, or no finial at all. Hardware and finials are sold separately from the panels.
Can I order more than two panels?
Yes. Choose the custom quantity option in Step 2 and enter the number of panels you need. Our team will confirm the quantity, fabric availability and pricing with you before production.
Can I add sheers?
Yes. Coordinating sheer panels can be layered behind your decorative drapery to add privacy, softness and light control. Select the sheer option in Step 5. Sheers are sold separately. Sheer fabric details and pricing will be confirmed by our team.
Can I order a KS track?
Yes. A KS track system can be added in Step 6. KS tracks give a clean, streamlined installation and may suit a more functional treatment. KS tracks are sold separately. Track specification, compatibility and pricing will be confirmed before production.
Are the drapery panels functional or decorative?
The panels offered on this page are decorative stationary panels. They are not designed to open and close across the full width of the window unless a suitable track or hardware system is selected. If you need a functional treatment, add a KS track or contact us so we can specify the right hardware.
Can I see fabric samples before ordering?
We recommend reviewing a sample before committing, particularly for colour. [Placeholder — sample request process, availability and any sample fee to be confirmed by Designers Resource Centre.]
Does installation come included?
Installation is arranged separately from the drapery panels. [Placeholder — installation availability, service area and pricing to be confirmed by Designers Resource Centre.]
What happens after I submit my order?
Your selections are sent to our team for review. We confirm fabric, hardware, sheer and track availability, verify measurements and quantities with you, and provide final pricing. Production only begins once you have approved the confirmed order. [Placeholder — production timeline to be confirmed.]
