What You Are Ordering
Decorative panels, tailored to frame the window beautifully
This collection offers decorative stationary drapery panels — also known as dummy panels or side panels. They are made to hang at the sides of a window, softening the frame, adding height and colour, and finishing a room the way a well-cut garment finishes an outfit.
What is included. Your order on this page is for the drapery panels themselves, made to a finished size of 24 inches wide by 84 inches long in the Maxwell Fabrics textile you choose. Decorative hardware, coordinating sheers and KS track systems are optional and sold separately. You can add any of them to your combination below, and we will quote them alongside your panels.
Please note: because these panels are stationary, they are intended primarily for decorative framing. They are not designed to draw fully open and closed across the entire window unless you also select a suitable track or hardware system, such as the optional KS track. If you need a fully functional treatment that traverses the whole window, add the KS track option or contact us and we will specify the correct system for your opening.
Designer-grade textiles
Every panel in this collection is made in a Maxwell Fabrics textile, selected for hand, drape and durability.
Made to order
Panels are cut and sewn for your order after your combination is reviewed and confirmed.
Add only what you need
Hardware, sheers and KS tracks are separate items, so you can use what you already own or add ours.

Build Your Combination
Design your drapery panels
Each drapery panel is made to a standard finished size of 24 inches wide by 84 inches long. Steps 1 and 2 are required. Steps 3 to 5 are optional add-ons, each sold separately.
Coordinating sheers can be layered behind your decorative drapery panels to add privacy, softness and gentle light control. A sheer layer diffuses daylight during the day while your decorative panels continue to frame the window. Sheers are a separate item and are quoted alongside your panels.

A KS track system gives drapery a clean, streamlined installation with a discreet profile. It may be a good choice if you would like a more functional window treatment rather than purely decorative side panels. Installation & Measuring
Measuring for decorative panels
Decorative stationary panels are forgiving to measure because they frame the window rather than cover it. A few details still make the difference between a good result and a beautiful one.
Where the panels sit
- Panels hang at one or both sides of the window and remain stationary.
- Mounting the rod or track above the window frame adds height to the room.
- Extending hardware beyond the frame lets panels sit clear of the glass.
What to measure
- Window width and height, including the trim.
- Distance from the intended rod or track position down to the floor.
- Ceiling height, and any moulding, sill or obstruction nearby.
- Mounting surface, such as drywall, plaster, wood or ceiling.
Good to know
- With a finished length of 84 inches, panel drop should be checked against your rod or track height.
- If you are using your own hardware, confirm it suits a stationary decorative panel.
- If you need panels to traverse the window, add the KS track option or contact us.
- Installation service and pricing — to be confirmed
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions, answered
What is a dummy drapery panel?
A dummy panel, also called a decorative stationary panel or side panel, is a drapery panel made to stay in one position at the side of a window. It frames the window, adds softness, colour and height, and finishes the room, rather than being drawn open and closed.
Is the listed price for one panel or a pair?
Pricing is shown per selection in Step 2, where you choose one panel, a pair, or a custom quantity. Final pricing to be added — until then, submit your combination and we will send a quote.
Is hardware included with the drapery panels?
No. Decorative hardware is optional and sold separately, so you are free to use a rod or track you already own. If you would like ours, Step 3 offers two hardware styles, each available in black, silver, champagne and maroon. Both styles and all four finishes are the same price.
What is the finished panel size?
Each panel is made to a standard finished size of 24 inches wide by 84 inches long.
Can I order more than two panels?
Yes. Choose the custom quantity option in Step 2 and tell us how many panels you need. Custom quantities are reviewed and quoted by our team before production.
Can I add sheers?
Yes. Coordinating sheers can be added in Step 4 and layered behind your decorative panels for privacy, softness and light control. Sheers are sold separately from the drapery panels. Sheer fabric details, opacity levels and pricing will be published once confirmed.
Can I order a KS track?
Yes. A KS track system can be added in Step 5 and is sold separately. KS tracks give a clean, streamlined installation and may suit customers who want a more functional window treatment. Track models, finishes, mounting types and pricing will be published once confirmed, and our team will verify the correct track for your opening.
Are the drapery panels functional or decorative?
As offered here, they are decorative. Stationary panels are intended for framing the window and are not designed to open and close across the full window. If you would like a treatment that draws, add the optional KS track system or contact us so we can specify suitable hardware.
Can I see fabric samples before ordering?
We always recommend seeing a textile in your own light before committing. Sample policy, sample fee and shipping details to be confirmed — in the meantime, ask about samples when you submit your combination or book a consultation.
Does installation come included?
Installation availability and pricing to be confirmed. Please ask our team when your combination is reviewed and we will let you know what is available in your area.
What happens after I submit my order?
Our team reviews your combination, confirms fabric, hardware, sheer and track availability, and sends you the details and pricing for each item for approval. Production begins only after you have approved the final order. Production timeline to be confirmed.
